Introduction

James Fairweather was a 15-year-old boy that lived in Essex, England and attended Colchester Academy. He suffered from dyslexia, was severely bullied in school, and had been in and out of trouble most of his life.. In 2013, he was charged and found guilty of criminal damage to a house. In 2014, at the age of 14, his grandmother passed away and this may have triggered and ultimately pushed him “over the edge”. He was found guilty of stealing cigars and holding up a cashier at knifepoint. Since he was a minor, he was only sentenced to supervision from authority. Then his crime escalated from petty theft to murder.

The Crime

James Attfield was a 33-year-old man and father of five that also lived in Essex, England. In 2010, he suffered brain damage after a car accident. On March 29, 2014, Attfield was walking through Lower Castle Park and laid down in the grass at night after a few drinks. His body was later found with 102 stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but didn’t make it through the night.
