Introduction

Anita Cobby (née Lynch) was a very successful 26-year old who lived in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia in 1986. She was a registered nurse and a former pageant queen that actually won the Miss Western Suburbs Pageant in 1979. Many modeling agencies recruited Anita and thought she had the potential for a very successful career. She had other plans and wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a nurse. Anita met her husband, John Cobby, at nursing school and they married on March 27, 1982. On February 2nd, 1986 everything changed….Anita was brutally murdered by having her throat slit.

The Crime

Anita lived in Blacktown but she worked at the Sydney Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She used the train every day to commute to and from work. On February 2nd, her shift ended at 3 PM and she decided to stay in Sydney to go to dinner with some of her friends. She stayed in Sydney late and got back into Blacktown around 10 PM.

Normally, she would call her father to pick her up when she returned to Blacktown train station. However, on this day the payphone at the train station wasn’t working so she began walking home. As she was walking, a car pulled up next to her and she…
